Terms and Conditions of Auction
WHEN: April 19, 2025, Saturday, at 11:00 AM
WHERE: At Delta Sailing Association lot, Hernando Point on Arkabutla Lake, DeSoto County, MS. Go about 5 miles south of Hernando Square on Rt 51, then take Wheeler Road to the west 5 miles. DSA lot is at the end of Wheeler Road at the boat ramp at Hernando Point.
WHAT: Six sailboats, either abandoned or deeded to Delta Sailing Association, will be sold at absolute auction. Descriptions of each of these boats, all in varying states of rough condition, are below.
WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS OF SALE?
- Sale of these boats is strictly AS-IS, WHERE-IS. None of the boats are presented as currently sailable boats. Bidders are urged to inspect the boats before the auction.
- Sale is open auction by voice bid. Absentee bids may be made to any DSA officer, but payment must be made the day of the auction.
- Payment must be made in cash or certified funds or combination. DSA members may pay by personal check.
- Any new owner will have 7 days to remove the boat from the DSA Lot, otherwise the process of seizure and sale will be repeated.
- Minimum bid is $25.

O’DAY DAY SAILER 17’

Delta Sailing Association makes no guarantee as to the condition of this boat. It is offered where is, as is. Cash or certified check only. Any purchased boat or equipment must be removed within seven (7) days from date of auction, or it will be considered disposable.
This 17’ O’Day Day Sailer sailboat does not have a mast but does include the bottom fitting at the butt of the mast as well as several fittings off the original mast. Over 10,000 of these boats have been built over the years, so a mast replacement should be possible.
Otherwise, it is in good condition and has been cared for over the years. Rudder, sails, boom, a tool kit, several sheets and lines, and two almost-new tires are included but not yet on the trailer, as well as tie-downs for trailering the boat.
The classic O’Day Day Sailer is known as a good, stable family boat with plenty of cockpit space and a small cuddy cabin up front.

This Hobie 16 sits on a trailer that is damaged due to rust and will not support the rear of both hulls. Otherwise, it appears in sailable or near-sailable condition. Mast, rudders, tillers, sails, tramp are all present and the hulls appear uncompromised. The boat has a custom-made canvas tramp cover. Its sails are in the storage tube.
This boat comes with several hundred dollars worth of fittings and gear, including a bundle of PFD life vest to fit toddlers to adults all clean and in good condition.
HOBIE 16, HIN CCMQ6852M82G

This Hobie 16 has no trailer, mast, rudders or tiller and the hulls may be compromised. Sails appear to still be in the storage tube and many fittings and pieces of equipment are still attached.
LIGHTNING , Hull #13450

This 19’ long Lightning Class sailboat is in very good condi-tion and has been sailed in the last three years. Sails (main, jib, spinnaker), rudder, tiller, spinnaker pole are included.
The trailer is undamaged and has had bunk upgrades. It ap-pears in sailable or near-sailable condition. The boat has a custom-made canvas cover and has been stored with this cover all of its life.
OPTI HULL

The International Optimist Class is THE supreme youth teaching/training boat worldwide.
This Optimist Pram hull has a 2” X 2” puncture in the middle of the bottom but unknown if it goes through the hull. Very repairable. Otherwise, it appears in good shape although there is no mast, sails, dagger board, or rudder. Hull only. Parts are easily available in the after market.
SMALL WHITE DINGY, Hull # unknown

This small 12’ – 13’ dingy including a mast sits on a trailer but does not include a boom, sails, or rudder. The hull may or may not be compromised. The status of the trailer is un-known.
