But water service may take more time.
On March 4 Entergy reconnected the electric service line to the recently resurrected power pole at the Delta Sailing Association lot at Hernando Point on Lake Arkabutla. The line and the power pole had been dragged down by several falling trees during the EF1 tornado that hit the DSA lot and surrounding area the morning of January 11, 2020.
Water to the DSA facility may be another matter, however. The Arkabutla Lake Field Office reports that some of the water system infrastructure at Hernando Point was damaged in the storm and it may take a while to fix the issues. The entire area under the Corp’s control, including DSA’s water supply, are on a well system that has been turned off. There are currently port-a-pottys at the top of the launch ramp for temporary use. Getting water back to the area is a priority for the Field Office so that the Day Use area may be opened up again as well. When that happens, we’ll have water too. Until then – patience (and oh, yes, there is a lake full of water at the bottom of the hill!)
